jetlag

Oh man, I have some serious jet lag over here and I can’t seem to shake it. The funny thing is that our flight was literally like 2 hours long, but it’s not even the flight that tired me out, it’s everything else. You know I really get the saying “I need a vacation from my vacation” these days. Overall, our vacation was really good, it was one of the best and we all thoroughly enjoyed it (more on that later), but T wore me out running around and doing things.

My husband is one of those people that wants to arrive at the airport like 4 hours ahead of time, although we end up spending most of the time just sitting and waiting for our flight. Plus, our departure flight was at 3:45am which meant he wanted to be there at midnight (no sleep for an entire day) and it was delayed. After we arrived to our hotel I was dead and about to kill people, I just can’t deal without any sleep and those two just wanted to go out and do things (WHAT!). Then our arrival flight was at 7am so we got woken up at 3 in the morning after like 2 hours of sleep. Ugh, by the time we got back to Riyadh (on Friday) we just all crashed and I’ve not been able to get back to feeling normal since.

Usually traveling always means someone gets (or comes home) sick so I’m lucky that didn’t “really” happen. T does have a slight earache, but I expect that to go away soon. Me, well, I got sun poisoning, which is just laughable. I had no idea that was a thing, but yeah the sun actually poisoned my white ass. You should see me.

I feel bad for my husband he had to go back to work the very next day and T had school too, although I let him skip a day to rejuvenate. The thing is, when I look around our house I feel sick. When you live in the desert you have to clean ALL the time, I’m talking mopping and vacuuming daily among a million other things. That’s why everyone here has maids. After just one day of not being kept up you can tell, so I see a house that needs a major cleaning, tons of laundry to do and everything else under the sun and I just want to lay on the couch and take 2 naps a day. I need some energy, stat!

*By the way, I just noticed (5 hours later) that I accidentally posted my draft instead of saving it. So it was posted without spell and grammar check or an image, eek. Sorry for those who had to see that mess.
